Halloween Costumes:

Costumes are amazing. One moment, you're an ordinary person, having an ordinary day, but put on the right outfit and suddenly you're transformed into a famous character from a t.v. show, or a classic movie, or even a cartoon, a fairytale or a fantastic Disney story. Costumes give you a chance to express yourself - to express the parts of yourself that you normally wouldn't. When you're wearing a fedora, a top hat...when you're displaying a Harry Potter wand, or a pair of bat wings, you're more outgoing, more confident.

It's amazing how people react to you when you're wearing a Halloween costume or any other kind of costume. You get more attention, you meet more people; people are more open to interact with you. They're more playful, and you're more playful. Putting on a creative outfit let's you step into a different world. Suddenly you are a Na'vi tribe member on the planet Pandora, defending your homeland. Suddenly you're speaking like Austin Powers or Dr. Evil - quoting lines from a classic movie. All of a sudden, you're Tinkerbell, casting fairy dust on people, shedding love and light.

Who would you love to be this Halloween? Who would you love to feel like at your next party? Costumes are more than just clothing. They give us a chance to be someone else for a night. They give us a chance to act differently. If you want to be more flamboyant, then wear a hippie costume. Wear a flapper dress from the '20s. If you want to bring out your shy side, try perhaps an angel costume or a secretary outfit, and play shy for the night. If you want to feel powerful and bring out your masculine, how wonderful would it be to wear a super hero costume or a street fighter costume?

Costumes and accessories are not just for Halloween. They're for any occasion where you want to feel special. Why not have your next party be a fancy dress party and have all your friends pick their favorite costume? Why not have a theme party, perhaps based on pirates? It could be an Alice in Wonderland party. Choose your favorite Disney character. The options are endless. If you want to really go all out, you could hold a pimps and prostitutes party, or head back to your fraternity or sorority days and hold a toga party. If you hold a Roman event, people could dress as Julius Caesar, Brutus, a gladiator, a centurion, or a simple Roman citizen.

Costumes are also great for any special event, like a birthday party, or a dance party. Why not be extraordinary this month and go out in something you wouldn't normally wear. Can you imagine turning up to a party in a Halloween costume when no one else is? We (the founders of this website) have done exactly that, just to have fun with people. Just to walk down the street. October is not the only month where you can walk down the street wearing anything you like. Why not make this month October for you and a friend?

Be a little radical. Consider stretching that edge. For your next party, you could be wearing the sexiest outfit in town. You could be dressed as a naughty nurse, as Marilyn Monroe, or really go to town with a Lady Gaga costume.

Your kids will enjoy a costume any day of the year. Why not give them for their birthday a Little Mermaid costume or a Super Mario Brothers costume, and see their eyes light up as they wear it to their next party or just around the house. What little girl would not enjoy a princess costume? What little boy would not want to be Aladdin or Neo from the Matrix? For your teenagers, get them some unique costumes. What teen girl would not want to be Lady Gaga for a party and really show off? What teen boy wouldn't want to be Wolverine from X-Men? You could really give your kids something special on any day of the year, be it their birthday, Christmas or just a day to surprise them. Give them a costume that lets them feel special ☺
