• Wizard of Oz: The Cowardly Lion believes that he has no courage even though he is consistently brave through their journey.
• Wizard of Oz: Local legend has it that Oz, also known as The Emerald City, was inspired by a prominent castle-like building in the community of Castle Park near Holland, Michigan where Baum summered. The yellow brick road was derived from a road at that time paved by yellow bricks. These bricks were found in Peekskill, New York where Baum attended the Peekskill Military Academy.
• DIY Costume Idea: Alvin and the Chipmunks - have on really long turtleneck shirts or sweaters. Alvin has a yellow letter A on the front of a red shirt and a yellow A on his hat. Simon has a blue shirt and black or blue glasses and spiked hair. Theodore has a green shirt and spiked hair.
• DIY Costume Idea: Little Red in the Hood - have on red bandana, red "hooded" sweatshirt, and baggy pants worn especially low. Basket of cookies is optional.
• DIY Costume Idea: Bird - Quick and Easy - Get a brightly colored party hat (one of the pointy cardboard ones with the elastic band that goes under your chin). Wear it on your face like a beak.
